👍 What’s Good / Strengths
- Battery Size & Charging – 7000 mAh is very large, especially with 80W charging. If battery life is a priority, this is one of the stronger phones. Users report solid battery in gaming, media, navigation.
- Display – 144 Hz curved display, good brightness, good color accuracy. It gives a premium feel.
- Build & Protection – IP69 rating is rare in this price-segment. Slim build despite big battery makes it more usable.
- Camera (in good light & low light) – The 50 MP main camera performs well under good lighting; low-light also decent (though with the usual compromises). Ultra-wide also decent, though no telephoto zoom. Portraits fairly good.
👎 What’s Not So Great / Compromises
- Performance vs Rivals – The Dimensity 7300+ is decent, but benchmark scores are below many rivals in the same price range. So if you want high fps gaming or very intense usage, there are better options.
- Zoom / Telephoto – No dedicated telephoto lens. Digital zoom is limited; once you zoom beyond ~2×, quality drops noticeably.
- Price vs Features – Because it packs many premium features (large battery, IP69, curved display etc.), the price is pushed up, and in some variants, you may feel you pay for features you don’t fully use. If you’re less concerned about the extra display flair or IP rating, some lower-cost phones might give better value for “just performance + camera + battery.”
- Size / Weight – Even though it’s thin, 6.8-inch large screen + big battery = fairly big phone. Handling one-handed or in pocket might be less comfortable than smaller phones. This is a trade-off common with large battery phones.
- Software / Long-term Updates – Realme often comes with bloatware, ads, many features, which may affect software polish. Also, how many years of OS/security updates will it get? If you keep phones longer, update guarantee is important. (I didn’t find a clear public promise for software duration in sources.)
💵 Is It Worth the Price? / Value
- The base variant (~ 8 + 128 GB) at ~ ₹23,999 seems reasonable if you want a big battery, curved display, IP rating, and excellent front + main camera.
- The mid and higher variants (~ ₹27,999-30,999) start to push into segments where competition is tough; rivals may offer stronger chipsets, telephoto zoom, or better software support for a similar price — so the value starts to depend on what features you care about more.
- If your priorities are battery + display + durability rather than raw specs or gaming performance, then Realme 15 is a strong pick in its segment.
